North Somerset Council’s libraries team have gifted 150 books to local people who are learning English as their second language to mark World Book Night (Tuesday 23 April).

The iconic Knife Angel statue will be in Weston’s Italian Gardens throughout May. To mark its arrival, the public are invited to attend an opening ceremony on Wednesday 1 May, which begins at 4pm.

Young care leavers are accessing free bus travel across North Somerset and the West of England Combined Authority areas, thanks to the WESTfares pass. Since the scheme was launched in November for national Care Leavers Week, over 400 applications have been submitted for a pass and over 26,000 free journeys have been made.
