Congresbury parks and open spaces volunteering

Congresbury Station Strawberry Line

Congresbury Station Strawberry Line group is part of Yatton and Congresbury Wildlife Action Group (YACWAG). This group of volunteers is working with North Somerset Council to improve Congresbury Station on the Strawberry Line.

Volunteer tasks include clearing the vegetation which has previously hidden the old station and making the station more visible to visitors. Long term funding options will be considered to restore the platform. These improvements could be repointing and rebuilding the front wall, coping stones and replacing the surface.

Behind the station is a small woodland and pond. There is also a reedbed which is a nationally important habitat type. Works to this area will include improving the wildlife habitats found here and to allow better public access.
