After you apply (in year transfers)

Applications are usually processed within ten school days of us receiving your complete application. School days do not include weekends, public holidays or school holidays.

Please do not contact us for an update or chase your application until at least 10 school days has passed as this causes delays in processing everyone’s application.

If you applied online or with a paper application, and you have included your email address, we will email you the outcome.

If you applied on a paper form and did not include your email address, we will send you the outcome in the 2nd class post.

When you receive the outcome, please keep in mind that it may not have been us that made the decision to offer or refuse a place, as this may not have been delegated to us by the school.

Accepting your offer

If you are happy with your allocated school place, you will need to accept it and contact the offered school to arrange a start date.

Appeals and waiting lists

If you do not get the school place you want, you can ask to be put on a waiting list for your preferred school(s) and you can appeal if you wish. You can also make a new application for different schools.

Additional support

If you are having difficulty securing your child a school place using the in year application process, we advise you to contact the Admissions Team in the first instance.

While you are welcome to discuss your case with your local MP, please bear in mind that they are not able to award school places, and neither an MP nor the local authority can overrule the decision of the Admission Authority (the school).
