The Parents Plus special needs programme is for parents and carers of young people aged 11-25 years who have an intellectual disability.
It is suitable for families of children and young people with mild, moderate or severe intellectual disabilities, who may also have autism, physical disabilities or additional support needs.
The programme is evidence‑based, strengths‑focused and developed in partnership with disability teams and families. Research shows that parents who take part experience improvements in parenting confidence, family wellbeing, behaviour management and stress reduction.
