The Parents Plus: Adolescent Programme is for parents and carers of young people aged 11 to 17 years.
It's suitable for all families, including those with neurodiverse teenagers, as the strategies focus on clear communication, predictable routines, emotional regulation and strengthening relationship approaches that are especially helpful for young people with autism, ADHD or other SEND needs.
The teenage years can bring big changes, and many families experience more conflict, stress or worry during this time. This programme helps parents build warm, positive relationships with their teenagers and feel more confident supporting them as they grow into independent, resilient young adults.
The eight-week programme is evidence‑based, solution‑focused and builds on the strengths parents already have. Research shows that the Parents Plus Adolescent programme can:
- increase positive social behaviour
- reduce emotional and behaviour difficulties
- improve communication within families
- reduce parenting stress
