iLearn Together

The information below will help you to understand what we will do with the personal information that you provide to the council.

Purpose of processing

North Somerset Council is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office for the purposes of processing personal data. iLearn Together is administrated on our behalf by our partners Agilisys Ltd and DELT Shared Services Ltd.

The information you provide will be held and used in accordance with the requirements of UK and European data protection law. The information will be used to create your iLearn Together account and if applicable, to request payment for training courses attended. We’ll keep your information for three years from the last time you used your account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Data subjects

Data subjects include representatives from partner organisations, business stakeholders, and members of the public who participate in training sessions facilitated by North Somerset Council.

Personal data

Unless otherwise agreed with you, we will only collect the minimum personal data required to deliver the service, which includes your name, contact details, email address and organisation, if applicable. We also ask that you inform us if you have any special requirements to support your learning or wellbeing.

Where necessary to support your learning or wellbeing, we will capture information relating to any medical conditions or special educational needs.

How your personal data will be used

We will use your personal data based on our legitimate interest to run iLearn Together as a training booking system for North Somerset Council, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of GDPR. 

Profiling and automated decision making

Not applicable for this service.

Legal basis for using your data

We will use your personal data based on our legitimate interest to run iLearn Together as a training booking system for North Somerset Council, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of GDPR. 

Where applicable, we rely on Article 9(2)(g) to process Special Category data, as we require this information to satisfy our legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Equalities Act.

Sharing data

We may lawfully disclose information to public sector agencies to prevent or detect fraud or other crime, or to support the national fraud initiatives and protect public funds under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. 

Under the conditions of the Digital Economy Act 2017, we may also share personal data provided to us with other public authorities as defined in the Act, for the purposes of fraud or crime detection or prevention, to recover monies owed to us, to improve public service delivery, or for statistical research. We do not share the information with other organisations for commercial purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to see the personal data we process about you, as well as the right of objection, rectification and restriction.

How long we keep your data for

We will keep your information for three years from the last time you used your account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

If you are unhappy about the way we have treated your personal data, or feel we have not properly respected your data subject rights, you have the right to contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and tell them about this. Advice is available on the ICO website.
