Public space protection orders consultation

We are asking residents, businesses and community groups for their views on making public spaces in North Somerset more welcoming for everyone.

The consultation is open until 9.30am on Monday 27 April 2026.

Have your say on North Somerset’s PSPOs through our consultation website

Any public toilet where the public is entitled to access with or without payment is subject to a public space protection order.

The order requires that in public toilets you must not

  • cause damage to the property
  • vandalise, improperly soil or add any printed or written materials to any part of the public convenience
  • obstruct any person working at or using the public toilet

Anyone who fails to comply, without reasonable excuse, is in breach unless specific exemptions apply within the order.
