Parent Plus - parenting when separated parenting programme

The Parents Plus: Parenting When Separated programme is for parents of children aged 0 to 17 years.

It's a six-week, evidence-based course designed to support families who are separated but co-parenting, as well as those preparing for, going through or adjusting after separation or divorce.

The programme helps parents reduce conflict, support their children's wellbeing and feel more confident in their parenting. Research shows it can improve child behaviour, reduce parental stress and strengthen co-parenting relationships.

What the programme helps with

Parents are supported to:

  • solve co-parenting problems in a child-focused way
  • create practical routines that minimise stress and conflict
  • communicate more effectively with their children and with their child's other parent
  • manage the emotional impact of separation and use stress-management tools
  • help their children cope emotionally and stay connected through changes

The programme is practical, solution-focused and builds on the strengths parents already have.

Parents say...

"The relationship with my child's other parent has improved a lot. We can communicate clearly about our children, they are happier, we are happier."
