Bin collection dates

Garden waste update

Despite our best efforts to keep your garden waste collection service running as normally as possible over recent weeks, due to staff shortages we have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend collections.

There will be no garden waste collections until Friday 17 September.

Please note although the collection dates are shown on your online calendar, we will not be able to collect your garden waste during this period.

Recycling and black bin waste collections are shown and will continue as normal. We will update this page when normal service resumes.

It’s really easy to check when your next collection is due. You just need to enter your postcode, select your address and your collection dates will be displayed. You also have the option to download your collection calendar.

Did you know that 50% of the rubbish we take from your black bins could have been recycled?

Find out what we do with your recycling.

If your household is registered for the garden waste service you’ll also see your garden waste collection calendar.

On your collection day

Put your bins out on the edge of your property:

  • between June and August bins need to be out the night before or by 6am on collection day to allow crews to start early and avoid the hottest part of the day
  • rest of the year by 7am.

We collect on bank holidays so you need to put your bins out on your normal collection day. The only exception is the Christmas and New Year period, when you need to check your calendar for your revised collection dates.

The same crews will work in your area five days a week, so if your collection is missed one day, it will mean they’re nearby the following day to come back and pick it up.

Printed collection calendars

To limit our environmental impact, we no longer print our collection calendars.

If you do require a large font or braille calendar, please contact us via the information below.
