Collections during severe weather

Collections may be delayed during severe weather but you should still put out your refuse and recycling on your collection day if it is safe to do so.

You do not need to report a missed collection unless it is only your property that has been missed.

If your food waste and recycling has not been collected by 7pm, take them back in and put them back out again on your next scheduled collection day.

If your refuse collection is missed you can leave your black wheelie bin out in a safe place and the crews will come to collect it as soon as they can.

During severe weather we will collect extra bags of refuse that you have due to missed collections.

We’ll post updates about how our services, including recycling and waste collections, are affected on our emergency closures and information pages.
