Adult Social Care works alongside adults who need extra care and support to live well and to be as independent as possible.
People may require support because of a disability, long-term illness, age, a learning disability, Autism, mental health problems or being a carer.
People may need extra support for things like:
- getting out of bed
- washing and dressing
- accessing education, training, work, and volunteering opportunities
- preparing or accessing meals
- seeing friends or looking after a family member
- getting out and about
- housing
- staying safe and well
How we can help
We work in partnership with a range of community organisations to help people to live independently and achieve their goals. Our first step is to provide information, advice, and guidance to help you access the support which is right for you.
When required, we will arrange an assessment of your needs and help you to develop a care and support plan. Our aim is to draw from a range of resources to help you to live well. This might include building on your existing social networks, commissioning care and support services, or allocating funding so you can purchase your own care and support.
