Bristol Airport proposal FAQs

What is a master plan

The UK government advises that airports publish master plans. These are non-statutory documents which presents the airport's long-term vision for how it can grow.

What is being proposed

Bristol Airport is also setting out draft proposals for the new infrastructure. They consider this to be necessary to increase passenger numbers from the current limit of 12 million passengers per annum to 15 million.

How you can comment on these proposals

If you would like to have your say on the master plan and the airport's proposals, you need to send your comments to Bristol Airport via their website.

All comments should be sent to Bristol Airport by 31 January 2025.

Comments sent to the council will not be taken into account.

What happens next

Bristol Airport have stated that they intend to submit a planning application in summer 2025.

When a planning application is submitted, we will undertake the required publicity and consultation, giving everyone an opportunity to send us their views.
