Alliance Homes support services

The Alliance Support team provides housing related support to the North Somerset community.

If you are concerned about your housing, health, work or financial situation and would like free, impartial advice, please ring to be booked in for an assessment.

You do not need to be an Alliance Homes tenant to access our services.

Support can help with a wide range of issues including:

  • making informed choices about your housing options
  • providing advice and guidance on sustaining your tenancy
  • resettling into new accommodation
  • developing skills so you can manage safely in your home
  • access to aids and adaptations for your home
  • access to Health and Social Care services, and other specialist agencies
  • claiming any welfare benefits you are entitled to
  • dealing with rent arrears and other debts
  • helping with unpaid caring responsibilities for yourself or a family member
  • resettling home safely after a hospital stay
  • reducing social isolation and loneliness and accessing community services
  • finding advice and help to access education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities

Terms and conditions

Our services are funded by the council and are free to all North Somerset residents. We support anyone over the age of eighteen and of any tenure.

We are not a long term service. Our support is outcome focussed and dependent on need.  You are welcome to enter/exit the service as you wish.

We work in six key areas:

  • housing
  • health and welfare
  • finance (benefits/finance/debt)
  • employment and training
  • unpaid Carers support
  • supporting patients in local hospitals

We are an ‘advice and guidance’ service. We are not a statutory service.  Our support is a mixture of practical support and signposting and multi-agency working

We are not able to provide support for the follow areas:

  • personal care
  • befriending
  • attending appointments with people who aren’t clients
  • counselling and emotional support
  • directly providing housing - although we can help you explore housing options to support your resettlement once a property is found.
