There is a wide range of climate-related funding available in England, many of which are aimed at community projects.

On this page you'll find a list of available grants or funding from either North Somerset Council or from external funding providers.

Where possible we aim to keep this page updated with closing dates and links that will take you directly to the fund webpage.

Aviva Community Fund (with Crowdfunding)

Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations in the UK who can raise their initial funding through a crowdfunding campaign for projects that address Aviva’s current themes of climate champions and financial empowerment.

BA Better World Community Fund (with Crowdfunding)

Grants are available for charities, community benefit societies and social enterprises in the UK who can raise their initial funding through a crowdfunding campaign to support projects that deliver benefits for climate, communities and nature.

Better Community Business Network Grant Initiative

Funding is intended to improve the quality of life and expectations of people and their communities, especially those who come from disadvantaged or socially deprived backgrounds.

Big Local

Local Trust is a place-based funder, which works with 150 Big Local areas, where people are making their communities better places to live. The aim of the fund is to create empowered, resilient, dynamic and asset-rich communities making their own decisions on what is best for their area.

Bristol Airport Local Community Fund

Promoting nature conservation, educational projects and sustainability initiatives in the locality of the airport.

Climate Action Fund

Grants are available for community-led partnerships in the UK to make changes in their community that they believe will have the biggest impact on climate change.

Application deadline: Ongoing

Community Infrastructure Levy

Local Authority Funding which is passed on to Town & Parish councils to enable them to support the development of the local council’s area, including infrastructure and demands of an area.

Enovert Community Trust

The funding is intended to support community and environmental projects in the vicinity of Enovert’s operations across the UK.

Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme

Support is available to England’s farmers and land managers in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, National Parks and the Broads to support nature recovery, mitigate the impacts of climate change and fund nature-friendly, sustainable farm businesses.

Forest of Avon Trust - Trees for Climate Grant

The overall aim of the Trees for Climate programme is to plant enough trees to help the UK meet its 2050 net zero emissions target. As part of this goal, the Forest of Avon Trust is facilitating tree planting in the Forest of Avon area.

Postcode Local Trust - West of England

The Postcode Local Trust is moving in 2021 from a grants programme that was previously available across Great Britain to one focused only on the west of England.

Ocado Foundation for Good

Grants are available for registered charities, community interest companies, local authorities and other organisations to support skills development or sustainability projects that bring benefit to communities across the UK.

Quartet Funding

Funds projects that work to make positive changes in the community - meaning people living in the same area, or people with similar interests or life experiences.
