Crossing patrols

We operate a traded service for the provision of school crossing patrols at schools on or near busy roads to make it safer for children to walk to and from school. This service has to be funded by schools.

Children should always wait at the kerb and only cross in front of the patrol (so you can be seen) when told to do so. A patrol should never be followed into the road.

It is an offence for drivers and cyclists not to stop at a patrol’s signal. They should slow down, be prepared to stop and be patient, allowing time for children to cross.
