Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)

On this page will find the North Somerset Emotionally-Based School Avoidance (EBSA) pathway and pre-pathway.

The pathways aim to help schools by:

  • pre-pathway - a screening tool to aid identification of young people at risk of developing EBSA
  • pathway - guides the response of schools and colleges to students who have reduced attendance from education for a prolonged period

Alongside the pathways, we have produced:

  • guidance documents
  • training videos
  • banks of resources

These will help you meet the underlying needs of children and young people with emotionally-based attendance difficulties.

EBSA pre-pathway resources
