The Department for Transport have worked with the Met Office and other government departments to put together a website with advice on how to plan for winter weather.
It includes advice on how to prepare for a journey in the winter as well as driving in severe weather.
During the last couple of winters there has been severe flooding in parts of the country, leading to flooded and damaged roads.
The Environment Agency and the AA have worked together and produced guidance for motorists to highlight the risks of driving through flood water.
