Street lights, illuminated signs and traffic lights

Traffic lights

To report a problem with traffic lights 24 hours a day, call 03301 230607 and select option 1. This does not include temporary traffic lights.

Traffic lights on motorway roundabouts are looked after by National Highways and faults should be reported using their 24/7 helpline on 0300 123 5000.

Non-urgent issues can be reported on their website.

Temporary traffic lights

To report a problem with temporary traffic lights, please email us.

Street lights and illuminated signs

We inspect our street lights every year. Any found to be unsafe will be replaced with galvanised steel or aluminium columns with LED lights.

LED lights use significantly less electricity and have a lifespan of about 20 years, making them much cheaper to maintain. This reduces the amount of carbon emissions from the electricity production needed to operate them. They emit light in a specific direction so they can provide uniform illumination of an area, so reducing light spill and pollution.

The street lights on motorways are looked after by Highways England, so any faults should be reported using their helpline on 0300 123 5000.

Please note, when you sign in to report a street lighting issue, it will ask you to select the street light on a map.

Due to a technical error, you will not be able to select the street light using the street view option.

Please use the standard map view to select your street light. If it asks you to confirm your selection, you are in the right place.

Please call us to report any emergency issues.
