Living in North Somerset

Whoever you are, whatever you enjoy, North Somerset has something to offer you. Nestled on the coast of the South West of England, the area is on the door step of Bristol, Bath Exeter and Cardiff.

Whether you crave the hustle and bustle of the city or the quiet charm of the countryside, you can reach either in less than 60 minutes. You can be in London in a little over two hours on the mainline railway, or any destination in the world via Bristol International Airport, which you will find in Lulsgate, North Somerset.

The area also boasts a corner of the Mendip Hills, a National Landscape, as well as the most Green Flag awards for green spaces in the south west.

For thrill seekers the designated wind zone on Weston-super-Mare’s nearly 3km sandy beach gives the chance to try anything from power kiting to kite surfing. Churchill’s Mendip Outdoor Pursuits offers a range of activities from downhill skiing and boarding to Frisbee golf.

If you are after a more tranquil activity there are the National Trust’s Tyntesfield and Brean Down properties, or cinemas including Clevedon’s historic Curzon.

For families there are lots of free or affordable attractions across the area from the Lake Grounds in Portishead to the Water Park on Weston’s seafront.
