Early years pupil premium (EYPP)

Your child’s early years education provider could get additional funding to help with your child’s education. This will be paid direct to your provider. 

Who can apply

You can apply for early years pupil premium if your child is aged nine months or above and you get 15 hours funded childcare and are in receipt of certain benefits.

How to use EYPP effectively

Effective use of EYPP could include:

  • focussed interventions to support learning and development
  • broadening the child’s experiences (cultural capital)
  • investment in staff development
  • improvements to the learning environment
  • strategies to support parent partnership and develop the home learning environment

Ofsted inspections

Ofsted inspectors will ask for evidence of the impact of EYPP funding on eligible children’s development as part of their inspection.
