Independent Living Centre

Our Independent Living Centre in Worle serves as a demonstration centre for assistive equipment and technology enabled care (TEC). It offers retail opportunities for the public to explore and purchase equipment and technology.  

All the equipment and technology is available for you to try out when you visit. We can also order any items for you that you wish to buy and offer advice around how to set up and use technology.

Our Independent Living Centre contains displays for:

  • bathing displays and shower units 
  • bathing aids such as bathboards
  • Height adjustable kitchen hob
  • stairlifts
  • riser recliner chairs 
  • adjustable beds 
  • Mobility aids such as 4 wheeled walkers
  • small aids that help with everyday life
  • assistive technology.

The site also houses a fully equipped and accessible assessment flat. This is used for planned Occupational Therapy Clinic assessments which are offered to people being supported by our Single Point of Access (SPA) team.

Directions

By car

The Independent Living Centre is located within Tamar Court Extra Care Housing Scheme in Worle. It is a short distance from Junction 21 of the M5. The entrance is located via Trenleigh Drive. 

For Sat Nav use the Tamar Court postcode.

Free parking is available onsite in the designated area. There is also a drop off point if needed. All other parking is in the surrounding residential area.

By bus

There is a Number 7 bus stop opposite Trenleigh Drive, with the Hub/EDC being 400 meters walk. The Number 7 bus can be caught from Worle Bus Terminus. 

There are a number of local community transport schemes that can support you. 

By train

Worle Parkway train station is 1 mile away and then either;

  • a four minute taxi ride or a 15 minute walk or;
  • you can catch the A3 from Worle Parkway to Worle Bus Terminus and then the Number 7 bus to Trenleigh Drive.
