Occupational Therapy staff will explore a range of equipment with you that might make life easier.
This might be as simple as rail by the front door or over the bath to reduce your risk of falls.
Or it could be more complicated, like a hoist that attached to your ceiling that makes it easier for you or your carers to lift you from the bed to a chair.
Equipment is provided free on loan, but we will choose the most cost-effective way to meet your needs.
You must return it when you no longer need it.
You may want to upgrade to a more expensive piece of equipment than what we offer. For example, you might want a different style of profiling bed to the one we provide.
It is possible to use a direct payment to “top up” the cost of equipment. This can only be done if the alternative equally meets your needs. In this case, you will often be responsible for maintaining that equipment.
