Have your say on the 2025-26 budget

We have to set an annual budget at the start of each financial year. This sets out how much money we have available and what it will be spent on.  The financial year begins in April.

2025-26 will be another challenging year for us due to

  • our financial emergency and;
  • the fact that we have already made many savings and efficiencies

This situation will impact on the services we can deliver. Difficult decisions need to be made if we are to balance our books and avoid a Section 114.

Get involved

We know that changes to our services will impact on our residents and communities. That’s why we want to hear from you. We want to understand your priorities so that we can try and make decisions in our budget that best meet local needs.

We’ve announced a series of ways that you can get involved and tell us what you think the priorities should be.

Online survey

Take part in our online survey from now until 20 November via the button on this page.

In person events

We will also be hosting a number of in person budget events where you can ask questions and tell us what you think.

  • Thursday 7 November, 5.30pm to 7pm, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare
    • please arrive at the library reception and a council officer will meet you there
  • Thursday 14 November, 5.30pm to 7pm, Castlewood office, Clevedon
    • please arrive at reception and a council officer will meet you there

Online budget simulator

We have also launched an online budget simulator. You can use this tool to see the challenges we have in balancing the books. You can then have a go at balancing them yourself. This is an opportunity to understand how savings in particular areas can impact on residents and communities.

We hope as many people as possible get involved. Your feedback is important and will help inform our 2025-26 budget.
