Rateable value appeals

You can challenge or appeal against your property’s rateable value if:

  • you believe the rateable value is incorrect
  • there has been a change in the use of your property
  • there has been a change in the locality which has affected the value of your property
  • there has been a change in the use of neighbouring properties
  • part of your property has been demolished or added to
  • the Valuation Office Agency changes your rateable value for any reason

Challenges and appeals are made to the Valuation Office Agency who will investigate the decision

When the Valuation Office Agency decides to re-value your property we will update your account and issue a revised bill. Any overpayments will be refunded.
