Drawing standard - roof plan

Roof plans should show or indicate the following information:

  • a scale bar or a measured dimension
  • drawn to a scale of 1:50 or 1:100 
  • the shape of the roof particularly when development includes changes to its appearance and shape
  • the position of all ridges, valleys, dormer windows, roof lights and other features, such as chimneys or raised parapets.
  • details such as the roofing material and their proposed location are typically also included.
