Charging area

Parking conditions in the charging area are enforced by uniformed civil enforcement officers.

Charges

  • 20 minutes: 30p
  • 1 hour: £1.50
  • 2 hours: £3.00
  • 3 hours: £4.00

Charges and conditions apply Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm, including all bank holidays (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day). All parking bays have a three hour maximum parking time with no return for two hours, except for holders of trade permits.

How to pay

You can pay for on-street pay and display parking in two ways:

  • MiPermit - buy tickets through the app or call 0345 520 7007 for a virtual cashless ticket
  • on-street pay and display machines

For all options, the three hour maximum stay per street and two hour no return time will apply.

On-street machines

If you are using the on-street machine, please make sure that you check that the machine has registered all of your coins and that the expiry time is correct before printing your ticket.

The machines accept the following coins, and no other payment methods:

  • 5p
  • 10p
  • 20p
  • 50p
  • £1 and £2

Please note the machines do not give change and our civil enforcement officers do not carry change.

You can use any of the 49 pay and display machines in the on-street charging area to buy a ticket. If a machine is out of order, please try another machine or use MiPermit for a cashless ticket. Details are included on each machine, along with a phone number to report any faults.

Tickets issued in car parks cannot be used in on-street parking bays, and vice versa.
