About the Rural England Prosperity Fund

We have recently completed the third round of funding for the Rural England Prosperity Fund.

About the fund

The Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) supports the Government’s Missions and Farming and Countryside Programme.

Funding is available for projects that will positively impact rural businesses and communities by strengthening buildings, equipment, and assets.

For more information about the Rural England Prosperity Fund, please read the REPF Prospectus and 2025-26 updates on the GOV.UK website.

Objectives

The key objectives for business projects are:

  • creating jobs and boosting community cohesion
  • increasing private sector investment in growth - this is done by providing targeted support for micro and small enterprises to help them undertake innovation and adopt technologies and techniques to boost productivity
  • enhancing the rural visitor economy and rural leisure opportunities, including farm diversification
  • funding visible improvements to local retail, hospitality, and leisure sector facilities.

The key objectives for community projects are:

  • strengthening our social fabric and fostering a sense of local pride and belonging, through investment in activities that enhance physical, cultural, and social ties and amenities
  • support new and improved community infrastructure, providing essential community services and assets for local people

Your project must also fit with the DEFRA-defined REPF interventions, objectives, and outcomes/outputs for this programme.

We have funding for specific business and community interventions which you can view in our Interventions Objectives, Outputs and Outcomes for North Somerset document included on this page.

You can also view our guidance notes for the North Somerset REPF grant programme. It will provide you with full information about the opportunities available.
