Portage and inclusion

If you have a child under four with additional needs or disabilities, register with the National Portage Association, a home-visiting teaching service.

Our practitioners support families to learn and play together, helping parents recognise and celebrate their children’s success through a structured teaching programme.

If you use the service, you will be visited weekly or fortnightly by your practitioner, who will share their understanding of your child’s abilities and support needs.

Together you can set goals focussing on developing movement, learning, play or communication. Activities are based on play with the aim of providing fun and success for your child.
