North Somerset residents who can’t access council services online or on the phone are now able to access face-to-face support from library staff across the area.
We ran a trial scheme between August 2022 and February 2023 where customer service officers visited libraries to help people in person who couldn’t access services online or over the phone.
The service was well received but usage was very low in most locations.
Help from library staff
We have now developed an alternative plan which sees library staff offering this face-to-face support instead of customer services officers.
This means people can access support for longer periods and in more locations.
For complex enquiries where an immediate answer can’t be given, an appointment with the relevant council team will be offered for a later date. This includes blue badge applications.
This new system is now available across all libraries.
