The findings of an independent review regarding the recent active travel changes for Hill Road and The Beach in Clevedon will be shared at a public meeting on Monday 20 November in the town.

The review has been completed by transport design and engineering experts AECOM and has considered issues raised by local people and businesses as well as the professional views gathered through scheme audits. These include the design and safety of the scheme, access for disabled people, and those living nearby and whether users understand the new arrangements. It has also considered any impacts on trade and parking.

AECOM has prepared a report to present to North Somerset Council which will set out recommendations. The findings of the report will be shared at a public meeting at Christchurch, Chapel Hill, Clevedon on Monday 20 November at 6pm.

The next steps about the future of the scheme will be considered at a meeting of the council's Executive on Wednesday 6 December which will be open to the public.

Cllr Hannah Young, North Somerset Council's executive member with responsibility for active travel said: "Local people had the opportunity to contribute to the review at two public meetings, through an online survey and at a public drop-in event.

"A series of sessions for special interest groups were held and information about the review was also sent directly to residents and businesses on Hill Road, The Beach and surrounding roads.

"We made a commitment to share the findings of the review publicly and we'll be doing this on 20 November. The report will also be available to read online the same day. We will be considering the report recommendations carefully and setting out the next steps in due course."

In order to manage capacity at the venue tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis in person from Clevedon Library or online from TicketSource from 9.30am on Friday 10 November. https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/north-somerset-council/t-krqxkok.

If there are unallocated seats still available on the evening these will be made available to non-ticket holders, but people are encouraged to book a seat to avoid disappointment.

More information about the review and a link to the report will be available at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/clevedonreview.
