Dropped kerbs

Accredited contractors

Dropped kerbs can only be carried out by a New Roads and Street Works Act accredited contractor with public liability insurance cover of at least £5m.

If your application is approved, your chosen contractor must contact us at least 14 days before starting work. If the work is taking place on a street that is busy or has traffic problems, they should give us at least 28 days notice.

It is their responsibility to tell us that they have completed the work and give the dimensions of the crossing. They have 10 days to do this once the work is complete.
