UKSPF funded projects 2024

The following organisations have received UKSPF Community Grants this year and are currently delivering their projects.

Backwell PlayhouseExpansion and improvement of the existing facilities within the Playhouse, including improving the paint store, extending and refurbishing the dressing rooms, and improving the front-of-house toilets.
Congars CaféProduction of a feasibility study to assess options for redesigning the premises to accommodate a greater number of people and enable hosting of community wellbeing activities.
Locking Parish CouncilRefurbishment of the old GP Surgery to create an affordable and useable space for local community groups.
Portishead Youth and Community CentreDelivery of a series of 8-week employment and skills courses for young people not in education, employment, or training.
Power to PillBuilding on previous consultation and engagement work, this project will develop, coordinate and sustain local grassroots groups, whilst building better community infrastructure and increasing organisational capacity.
Refugees Welcome North SomersetContinued provision of meals to the local refugee and asylum seeker community, reducing social isolation through eating together and enabling volunteers to gain skills in the kitchen.
Race Equality North SomersetProduction of a feasibility study into options for bringing Roselawn, and empty North Somerset Council property, into use as a community asset base.
Somerset StoryfestContinuation of work to educate people on the plight of refugees through meeting them first-hand and exploring their experiences through discussion and music.
Super CultureBuilding on previous work, delivery of a programme of creative and cultural events and activities in Weston super Mare, focussed on growing community participation and reducing inequality of access to culture.
Walnut Grove Wellbeing CICLaunch of a new set of free health and wellbeing courses in Portishead, including outreach work into the community.
Yatton & Congresbury Wildlife Action GroupProvision of nature and conservation awareness sessions for children and young people aged 8-15 years in the Congresbury area.
