World Book Day 2020
World Book Day is a nationwide campaign to help change children’s lives, through literacy. The aim is to make story-sharing a habit of a lifetime, creating readers for life. Reading for pleasure is in decline, and World Book Day provides an opportunity to boost it back up, raise awareness and spark millions of imaginations.
What is World Book Day?
Schools, bookshops, libraries, businesses, and homes nationwide are invited to join this fun nationwide social event on Thursday 5th March to enjoy the pleasures of reading and share a story! Spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can make a crucial difference to their outcomes and it’s fun for all involved.
Join in with the fun
You can access resources, games, competitions, and lots more information on the World Book Day website
North Somerset libraries are getting in on the action this year, with events taking place across the area. Library volunteers will be helping to support many of these events, whether it is through helping a child to find the perfect book to read or running a library-based activity.
