Taking care of your mental health

It is always important to be aware and take care of your mental health. Current events are testing many people in various ways and mental health can easily be overlooked. 

Last week, 18-24 May, was Mental Health Awareness Week, but taking care of your mental health is vital at all times.  

North Somerset Council have put together some information, containing reliable information about where to go for advice and support.

The NHS Choices website contains links to:

  • mental well-being audio guides covering low mood, sadness and depression; anxiety control training; overcoming sleep problems; low confidence and assertiveness; unhelpful thinking. 
  • a breathing exercise for stress

Libraries have several Reading Well book collections, including one collection for children and one for young adults, as well as suggestions for mood-boosting books. Please be aware that not all Reading Well titles are available as eBooks.

Remember help is also available through your GP.
