About volunteering

Volunteers are an important part of North Somerset Library Service. Volunteering for the library service can give you the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, improve your CV for future job prospects and help your local community.

How to become a volunteer

If you are interested in volunteering we ask that you attend a volunteer information hour. We hold these once a month and alternate the venue between Yatton Library and Weston-super-Mare Library.

Attending an information hour gives you the opportunity to find out more about volunteering with the library service, the range of roles on offer and enables you to ask any questions that you may have before you complete a registration form.

Unfortunately we are currently unable to hold information hours due to the coronavirus pandemic. We hope to be able to provide an update shortly.

What happens next

When you attend an information hour, you will be given a link to our online registration form should you wish to take your interest further.

Once we have processed your registration form and received your references we will give you access to the training area of the website so you can book a training session.
