About volunteering

Volunteers are an important part of North Somerset Library Service. 

Volunteering for the library service can give you the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, improve your CV for future job prospects and help your local community.

If you are interested in volunteering we ask that you attend an volunteer information hour. We hold these twice per month. 

We offer one online session via Zoom and one in-person session each month. We offer a variety of dates and locations so that you can attend an information hour in whatever way best suits you. 

Attending an information hour gives you the opportunity to find out more about

• volunteering with the library service and;
• the range of roles on offer

You will be able to ask any questions that you may have before you complete a registration form.

When you attend an information hour, you will be given a link to our online registration form should you wish to take your interest further.

Once we have processed your registration form and received your references, we will arrange for you to have all the necessary training to get started in your volunteering role.
