Using library computers

Library computers are available until 15 minutes before closing time.

All library computers have access to the internet and word processing. PCs with scanners attached are also equipped with software for altering images.

If you can’t open a file on our computers, it may be we do not have the programme it was created in.

Our security settings mean you may not be able to download files which need to load themselves on to the hard drive to work.

We have filtering software on our computers to prevent access to inappropriate, offensive, extremist or illegal materials. No filtering software is perfect, so sometimes it may block websites you think you should be able to access. Tell the staff if this happens. Also tell staff if you accidentally access a website that you consider offensive.

Parents or guardians must assume responsibility for deciding what resources are appropriate for their children.
