Privacy notice – Health and Wellbeing survey

North Somerset Council is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office for the purposes of processing personal data.  

The information below will help you to understand what we will do with the personal information that you have provided for our Health and Wellbeing survey.

Purpose of processing

The council is considering the introduction of new measures to improve people’s lives in North Somerset. This questionnaire has been provided to allow you to engage in that survey, though you may prefer to contact us by different means in relation to this survey. 

We seek your specific comments and feedback on the questions, your health and wellbeing experience including barriers to participation. The anonymised results will be published and shared within the Council to the extent that it is required to meet the purposes of the survey.

Personal data

We may ask you for details that include

  • name
  • address
  • contact telephone number
  • email address
  • information about the person, including their preferences or choices that impact on their health and wellbeing 

How your data will be used

Any personal data that has been submitted will be received by Public Perspectives Ltd. who will engage directly with you to explore your comments, concerns or queries. 

The analysis of the information will be published and shared with relevant stakeholders but will not be at a level where individuals could be identifiable.  

Profiling and automated decision making

There are no automated decisions in this process.

Legal basis for using your data

We process your personal data where required to do so under:

Article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR – a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

Sharing data 

In some cases we may share your personal data and feedback with those listed below who may need to help us respond to you. 

We may share your personal data with

  • services within the council who may contact you regarding specific concerns beyond the scope of this consultation
  • with law enforcement or other authorities if required by applicable law
  • any third parties sub-contracted by Public Perspectives Ltd, but on the same terms within this privacy statement

How long we keep your data

Personal data will only be retained for as long as it is needed for the purpose specified above, for as long as the duration of the project requires it, or as required by applicable law or regulatory requirements.

This is anticipated to be a period of four months. It will then be deleted as stipulated within the contract between the council and the supplier.
