Making an environmental information regulations request

You can ask for information under the environmental information regulations either verbally or in writing.

To help us process what you ask for quickly you should include:

  • your name and an address for correspondence
  • a full description of the information you need

We aim to respond within 20 working days. Sometimes we may need to extend this to 40 working days, but we will let you know.

Environmental information regulation requests are usually about

  • planning control
  • transport and roads
  • waste management
  • countryside and conservation
  • energy
  • public health and food safety
  • buildings
  • regeneration
  • noise nuisances
