North Somerset Film Office is working with Locationdb, a UK-wide filming location database used by creative professionals, and is encouraging local businesses, property owners and venue managers to register their locations for free.
A wide range of locations are sought, including commercial premises, homes, gardens, warehouses, offices, car parks, industrial sites, vacant land and unit base or parking areas for production crews. Locations do not need to be historic or visually striking, every day, practical spaces are just as valuable to productions.
Registered locations will be visible to film and TV productions across the country, with the potential to generate income while supporting the local creative economy. Locationdb uses AI-powered search technology to help productions find suitable spaces based on visual features in uploaded photos.
A step-by-step registration guide is available at:

Cllr Mark Canniford, North Somerset Council’s Cabinet Member responsible for Economy said: “With major studios and production facilities nearby, North Somerset is well placed to benefit from the UK’s thriving screen industries. Making our locations easier to find helps ensure the area can share in that growth.
“North Somerset has an incredible range of locations, from everyday working spaces to distinctive landscapes, and this initiative makes it easier than ever for the film and television industry to discover them.”
