Libraries across North Somerset are getting ready to celebrate Libraries Week from 4-10 October.

This year the week will highlight the significant role that libraries play in their local communities to promote inclusion, sustainability, social mobility and community cohesion.

Libraries in North Somerset have a key role in helping residents to find work and improve their digital skills. If you're looking for work or were recently made redundant support is available at Employment and Skills Hubs in libraries across the area.

These hubs offer a wide range of services with guidance on careers, youth, digital skills, business start-ups and wellbeing, all delivered by local training providers.

The hubs offer one-to-one sessions and are available at Weston, the For All Healthy Living Centre, Clevedon, Pill and Portishead libraries.

Cllr Mike Solomon, North Somerset Council's executive member for neighbourhoods and community services, said: “We are very pleased that our libraries can offer this support to residents to help them find work and make a difference to people’s lives.”

Residents can find out more about their local hub by visiting https://innorthsomerset.co.uk/skills-support/opportunitynorthsomerset/ or emailing skillssupport@n-somerset.gov.uk.
