Join the Bus User Forum to help shape the future of buses in North Somerset

North Somerset Council is inviting residents, businesses, councillors, and anyone interested in the future of public transport to the 2025 Bus User Forum. The event offers two sessions: one online on Monday 19 May and one in-person on Wednesday 21 May. It aims to bring the community together to discuss how to improve the area's bus services, making them more reliable, accessible, and user-friendly for everyone.

Attendees will hear directly from councillors and bus operators about current and future plans for bus services. There will also be workshops where participants can share their experiences using North Somerset’s bus services and fare offers, as well as suggest ideas to shape local bus routes and public transport options.

You can choose between the two sessions; there’s no need to attend both. Attendance is free, but you must register in advance using the links below.

In-person forum:

Cllr Hannah Young, Executive Member for Highways and Transport at North Somerset Council, said: “We’re committed to working with bus operators and communities to help to make public transport more efficient and accessible for everyone. That is no easy task when council resources are stretched, but these forums are a great opportunity for residents to share their experiences and ideas directly with us. Whether you rely on buses for your daily commute or use them occasionally, your input can make a real difference in shaping services that work for our community.”

The Bus User Forums are part of North Somerset Council’s ongoing work with the West of England Combined Authority to deliver the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), funded by the Department for Transport (DfT). The plan includes a series of long-term investments in the public transport network to improve frequency, reliability, and accessibility, with upgrades to bus stops, new transport hubs, and better pedestrian and cycling facilities.
