The event was fully booked, with lots of families attending with their children to take part in the session. Children took part in a range of fun tasks, skill-building activities and cricket games throughout the day.
Councillor Catherine Gibbons, North Somerset Council’s executive member for children’s services, families and lifelong learning, said: “All Stars Cricket provides a fantastic first cricketing experience for all children aged five to eight. It’s designed to introduce children to the sport, teach them new skills and help them make new friends.
“Thank you to all our staff who helped run this event, and I hope that all of our young people and families enjoyed the day.

Will Anning, a community coach from Somerset Cricket Foundation, said: “All Stars is a great experience for children to learn about all the skills we use in cricket in a fun environment. The event includes lots of different bowling, catching and throwing games to gain new skills. The children also get a free personalised t-shirt, and a wristband to show that they’ve participated. It’s a great free initiative within the community.”
